Use Document Creation Interface
This interface will make you be able to create documents with listed words.
The point of using this interface is let you have choice of structuring them by which you know the structure of documents. By creating the document, it would be more understandable how the document sapce will represent the similarity of documents and therefore it would be easier to compare the distances between documents by 2-D and 3-D graphs.

Use Document Selection Interface
This interface will make you to select documents from the given document list.
The point of using this interface is let you see the document space by easily selecting document set from the list. Selecting document set quickly will make you see the document space easily and therefore without having effort you can understand how documents are represented in the document space and how the document distance matters in the similarity / dissimilarity of documents. Similary, document similarity will be represented in 2-D and 3-D graphs.

Visualization of the Document Space

After the Fastmap algorithm, the 'images' of objects will be provided. At this point, the system will transform those images into positions in coordinate system along X, Y and Z axis. We create this coordinate system as a space fulfilling with documents in various sizes and types to display the relationship among these documents themselves.

In order to present the document relationship in the space, we have created two types of graphic displays that are 2 dimension document space and 3 dimension document space. Because human is able to perceive and determine the difference of any distance between 2 object very well in a plane, we decided to create 2 dimension document space to better serve viewer's perception. However, in some cases, it is hard to figure out the distance between 2 object when a object overlays on the other. For this reason, we decided to create another type of representation that is 3 dimension space, which let viewer rotate the angle of the observing point to an appropriate view.

We believe not only that the 3 dimension graphic representation will brings a chance for viewers to virtually experience the document relationship better than the 2 dimension space but also that the 2 dimension space can give viewers to measure the different of document distance easier than 3 dimension space. As a consequence, we shows both 2 and 3 dimension space in the "ShowGraphSpace" page, so it would be easy for viewers who want to compare the document relation ship in 2 and 3 Dimension.

  • To Zoom along X Axis: Drag Mouse Pointer from Left to Right.
  • To Zoom along Y Axis: Drag Mouse Pointer from the Bottom to the Top.

  • To Rotate along X Axis: Drag Mouse Pointer Horizontally.
  • To Rotate along Y Axis: Drag Mouse Pointer Vertically.
  • To Show-Hide document space description: Click Left-Button once.
